Dimna Lake at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India
One fine evening,
standing by a vast placid lake,
deep blue in hue,
turning deeper every moment,
as the sun prepares to call it a day.
Watching the immeasurable,
unfathomable lake,
flanked…cuddled fondly
by dark mountains,
The lake looks so placid,
but not without mild ripples, crease-like,
produced by a soft tickle,
from a gentle, freshening breeze.
My heart, all of a sudden
goes up to the legendary muse,
the ‘Nature’s Priest’
whose heart ‘leapt up’
when he saw a rainbow in the sky.
I try to feel, visualize, absorb
each nuance and emotion
the legendary poet must have gone through
in those divine…immortal moments,
and find myself blessed with
a strange calm and
tranquility of the soul
and a tryst with divinity.
